Polk County Warrant Records Polk County Warrant Records

This policy explains what this site collects when someone visits, how that information gets used, and when it may be shared. Reading or using any page here means accepting the practices described below. The site itself holds no warrant data of its own. We keep that minimal. Searches run through outside tools, and those tools answer to their own policies. The rules that govern government records in Minnesota are separate, and this policy points to them where they matter.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

Anything typed into a search box on this site goes to the outside company that runs that search. The vendor processes the query and returns results, and we do not keep or log the terms entered.

Messages and Contact Submissions

If someone emails us, we keep the message long enough to answer it. It stays with our small team, and we do not pass it to anyone else unless a legal obligation requires that step.

Data We Gather Automatically

When a page loads, the server records routine technical details about the visit:

  • The IP address your device used
  • The browser and version in use
  • The device type and operating system
  • Which pages were viewed and how long each stayed open
  • The referring site, when one sent you here
  • Timestamps for each page view

Cookies and Analytics

This site uses cookies, which are small files stored on a device that show which pages attract readers and where visits end. Analytics services group that traffic into reports. Browser settings can block cookies at any time, and some parts of the site may behave differently when they are blocked.

What We Do With This Data

  • Keeping pages online and loading quickly
  • Passing a search request to the partner service that handles it
  • Learning which pages readers find useful and which need work
  • Finding and fixing technical problems
  • Displaying advertising that may match a visitor's interests

No Warrant Data on File

This site does not host, build, compile, or sell databases of warrants or personal case information. It publishes general guidance about where Polk County records live and how to request them from Polk County District Court, the Polk County Sheriff's Office, or the city agency that holds a citation. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and nothing collected from visitors is assembled into consumer reports about anyone.

Third-Party Search Partners

The search boxes here are run by outside companies. Whatever is entered in one of those tools is handled under that partner's privacy policy instead of this one. Those partners set their own retention and sharing rules, and we do not control them. Read the partner policy before submitting a search.

Links to Other Websites

Pages here link to court pages, sheriff and police contacts, statutes, and third-party search tools. Following one of those links takes you off this site, and the destination's privacy policy then governs the visit. Read it before sharing personal details.

Some advertising partners may track activity across sites to target ads. That tracking runs on their systems, not ours.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal data. Limited information may reach:

  • Search partners that process queries run here
  • Analytics services that measure traffic and performance
  • Ad networks that place advertising on these pages
  • A court or law-enforcement body when a valid legal order requires disclosure

How We Protect Your Data

We use standard security practices for the information we hold. Nothing connected to the internet is untouchable, so we cannot promise that a breach will never happen, and we will tell affected visitors what we know if one does.

Users Under 18

This site is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent us data, write to us and we will remove it.

Your Data Rights

Minnesota's Government Data Practices Act, Minn. Stat. ch. 13, governs public data held by government agencies, and Minn. Stat. §13.04 sets out what a data subject may ask a government agency to do with data about them. That chapter applies to public agencies, not to a privately operated website like this one, but we follow the same principles for what we hold. You can:

  • Ask for a copy of what we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct information that is wrong
  • Ask us to delete your data
  • Ask us to stop a particular use of your data

For a government record, the same chapter supplies the real rights: inspection of public data under Minn. Stat. §13.03, a copy charge limited to actual costs, and a written classification when data is withheld.

Updates to This Policy

This policy can change over time. A revised version will appear on this page with a new effective date, so check back if you want to track how visitor information is handled.
